Herscher InviteSunday, September 23 2018
The Prairie Central Hawks competed yesterday in the Herscher Invitational. The invite hosts 17 teams at Limestone Park. The varsity girls led the morning off with a 5th place finish. State-ranked opponents, #3 Herscher and #23 Beecher, claimed the top two spots for the girls. Leading the way was Becca Conlisk in 15th place. Her time of 20:52 was a new career PR and also good for a medal in the meet. Following close behind was Jadyn Stephens in 20th(21:11) and Tanya Fehr in 30th(22:08). This was also a new career PR for Tanya. Rounding off the girls race was Anna Hale(24:17), Lexi Zimmerman(24:51), Heidi Meister(25:11), Vivian Walter(25:57), Kylie Bazzell(27:54), and Paola Leon(29:33).
The boys took 10th place, respectively, in the meet. Taking the top three spots in the boys meet were state-ranked opponents, #1 Clifton Central, #13 Seneca, and #10 Herscher. The Hawks were led up front by Logan Goad in 40th. Logan's time of 18:34 was good enough for a new career PR. Rounding out the top six for the Hawks was Caleb Embry(19:32), Adrien Ruiz(19:49), Collin Fogarty(20:03), Ian Pick(20:08), and Matthew Huisman(20:36). Caleb, Collin, and Matthew's efforts earned them new career PR's. Also, finishing in the boys race was Joey Trembley(20:38) and Jackson Evans(21:50).
The Hawks compete next in the El Paso-Gridley Invite on Tuesday.
